What is free, with no account at all
The free PDF tools on this site work in your browser:
- Sign PDF: open a PDF, draw or type your signature, place it with today's date, download.
- Add signature to PDF: place an image of your signature, including on every page for initialling.
- Fill and sign PDF: fill in a PDF form's own fields, add text and checkmarks, then sign.
- PDF signature generator: create a transparent signature image to reuse.
They have no watermark, no daily cap and no sign-up wall. They can be free because they cost almost nothing to run: the PDF is processed on your device, so it is never uploaded or stored by us. That is also the privacy argument for them.
What they do not do is collect signatures from other people. Signing your own copy is a one-person job; getting someone else to sign needs a link, delivery, reminders and a record of who did what. That is what an account is for.
What a free account includes
A free account sends three documents a month for signature. That is not a cut-down sending experience. Each of those documents gets:
- signing links by email, and the option to share them over WhatsApp or SMS;
- signers who need no account and can finish on a phone;
- status for each recipient, automatic reminders and link expiry;
- correction of wrong addresses and renewal of expired links;
- an audit trail and a verification code for the completed PDF;
- export of everything, at any time.
The count resets on the first of each month (UTC). If you send fewer than three documents a month, you may never need to pay.

Is low-cost e-signature software good enough?
For the documents most individuals and small businesses sign, yes. Price differences between e-signature tools usually come from the business model rather than the signing: per-user seats, envelope counts and add-ons for features like SMS delivery. A flat price per account suits people who send a varying number of documents and do not need team administration. Where a more expensive platform earns its price is in enterprise controls, integrations and automation, which Salsox does not offer today.
