Where Dropbox Sign is stronger
Dropbox Sign's pricing page lists templates and signer attachments on every plan and bulk send from Standard. If you send the same agreement over and over, templates save setup time on each send, and Salsox does not have them. Dropbox Sign also has team plans with per-user administration, and it fits naturally if your files already live in Dropbox.
Where Salsox is different
Price for a single sender. At list prices, Salsox Personal costs less than Dropbox Sign Essentials, and both send without counting.
Getting paid with the signature. Salsox's Business plan includes Sign & Pay: the signer pays a deposit or fee, by card through Stripe or by card and mobile money through Paystack, as part of signing. Payment collection is not listed on Dropbox Sign's pricing page.
Signing order and approvals. Salsox Business supports sequential signing and an approver role, for documents that need an internal sign-off before a client sees them.
WhatsApp and SMS sharing. Every Salsox signing link can be shared to WhatsApp or SMS from the document page, which helps where signers read messages before email.
Fixes in place. Wrong address or expired link: correct or renew it without rebuilding the document.
Free tools. Salsox's free PDF tools let anyone sign, fill and add signatures to PDFs in the browser without an account or upload.
Switching from Dropbox Sign
Moving is mostly a matter of keeping your archive. Before your subscription ends, download your completed documents and their audit trails from Dropbox Sign; they remain valid records of what was signed, and nothing needs to be signed again. Templates do not carry over, because Salsox has none: for each new agreement you upload the PDF and either place fields in the editor or let Quick Send add a signature and date for each signer. If you sent the same few documents through templates, try one of them in Salsox first and time it, so you know what the change costs you in practice. Signers notice little difference: they still receive a link and sign without an account.
Which should you choose?
If your work revolves around a handful of standard agreements sent many times, Dropbox Sign's templates and bulk send will save more time than anything Salsox offers today. If you send varied, one-off documents, want to collect a deposit at signing, or sign with people who live on their phones, Salsox covers that for less. Either way, both let signers sign without an account, so you can try a real document with each before committing. The electronic signature software checklist helps you weigh the rest.
