Placing fields and signing10 steps

Place fields on a document

On the editor's Fields step: choose whose field it is, choose the field type, tap the page, then move, resize or remove it.

Fields are the places where each person signs, dates or fills something in. You place them on the Fields step of the editor. It works the same with a mouse or a finger.

Place a field

  1. Open the document in the editor and go to Fields (select Next on the Recipients step, or select Fields at the top).
  2. In the toolbar, select the person the field is for. Each person has their own colour.
  3. Select a field type: Signature, Initials, Name, Date, Email, Text or Checkbox. The hint under the toolbar changes to Now tap the page where the field should go.
  4. Tap or click the page at that spot. The field appears there, in that person's colour.
  5. Repeat for every field. Scroll down to reach later pages.

Adjust a field

  1. Move it: drag the field.
  2. Resize it: drag the small square in its bottom-right corner.
  3. Make it optional or required: select the field, then tick or untick Required in the toolbar. Required fields show a *.
  4. Remove it: select the field, then select Remove. On a computer you can also press Delete.
  5. Select Done in the toolbar to deselect the field.

When every signer has at least one field, select Next to review and send.

Good to know

  • Changed your mind about a field type? Select the same type again to cancel before tapping the page.
  • Tapping a field you've already placed selects it rather than placing a new one.
  • If tapping the page places nothing, see A field won't place on the page.
