1. Internship details

The Intern will join the Organisation as a Digital Marketing intern in the Content team, from 4 January 2027 to 31 March 2027, working at the Kumasi office, three days a week, and remotely.

2. Learning goals

By the end of the internship, the Intern should be able to:

  • plan and publish a month of social posts for a client;

6. Work produced

Work the Intern produces belongs to the Organisation, to the extent allowed by law. With approval, the Intern may describe it in a portfolio or CV without disclosing confidential information.

7. Ending early and reference

Either party may end the internship early with one week written notice. At the end, the Organisation will provide a written reference or certificate of completion on request.

About the Internship agreement template

An internship works when both sides agree on what it is for. This agreement writes that down: the dates, the hours, the stipend, who supervises, and three concrete learning goals the intern should reach by the end.

The learning goals do two jobs. They make the placement worth the intern's time, and in many countries they are part of what distinguishes a genuine internship from unpaid work, which labour law treats very differently. If the intern will mostly do productive work for the business, pay at least the minimum wage.

The template also covers conduct, confidentiality and who owns the work, and lets either side end the placement early with short notice. If the internship is part of a course, add the school as a third signer.

Questions

Do interns have to be paid?

It depends on the country and on what the intern does. In many places an intern who does real work for the business is entitled to at least the minimum wage. Check local rules before offering an unpaid placement.

What should an internship agreement include?

Dates, hours, location, supervisor, the tasks and learning goals, any pay or expenses, confidentiality, and how either side can end the internship early.

Does a university need to sign too?

If the internship is part of a course, the school may have its own form or want to co-sign. Add a third signer for them when you send it.
