Parking Space Rental Agreement
This agreement is made on 24 October 2026 between Sarah Lindqvist (the "Owner") and David Mwangi (the "Renter").
1. The space
The Owner rents to the Renter covered bay number 14 in the underground car park at Riverside Court, 5 Quay Road, Bristol BS1 4XE (the "Space"), starting on 1 November 2026, for parking this vehicle only: blue Volkswagen Golf, registration BX21 KLM. The Renter will tell the Owner before changing the vehicle.
2. Rent and deposit
The rent is GBP 120 a month, paid on the 1st of each month, by standing order. The Renter pays a deposit of GBP 120, returned within 14 days after the agreement ends, less any unpaid rent or the cost of repairing damage the Renter caused.
3. Access
Access is by one remote control for the car park gate, which the renter returns at the end. A lost remote or key is replaced at the Renter's cost.
4. Use
The Renter will use the Space only to park the vehicle above, which must be taxed, insured and roadworthy. The Renter will not store goods or fuel in the Space, carry out repairs there other than minor ones such as changing a bulb, sublet it, or obstruct other spaces or access routes.
5. Responsibility
The Renter parks at their own risk and keeps their own vehicle insurance. The Owner is not responsible for loss of or damage to the vehicle or its contents, except where caused by the Owner's negligence. The Renter is responsible for damage they cause to the Space or the building, including oil leaks.
6. Building rules
The Renter will follow any rules of the building or car park that the Owner has given them.
7. Ending the agreement
Either party may end this agreement by giving one month written notice. The Owner may end it immediately if the Renter is more than 14 days late with rent or seriously breaks section 4. At the end, the Renter will remove the vehicle and return the access device.

About the Parking space rental agreement template
Renting out a parking space is simple, which is why it is so often done on a handshake, until a vehicle is damaged, the rent stops, or the renter starts storing furniture in a garage. A short written agreement prevents all three.
This template identifies the space and the one vehicle allowed to use it, sets the rent, payment date and a small deposit, and says how access works, including returning the gate remote or key. It limits the use to parking a roadworthy, insured vehicle, so the space does not become storage, a workshop or a place for a car that leaks oil.
It also places responsibility where it belongs: the renter parks at their own risk and keeps their own vehicle insurance, while the owner keeps the space in the condition it was rented. Either side can end the agreement with a month's notice. If the space is in a building with management rules, attach them; many flats' leases limit letting parking spaces, so check yours first.
