Consulting Proposal
Client: Ridge Specialist Hospital, sponsor Dr. Kofi Ampofo, Medical Director Consultant: Asante Advisory, led by Dr. Yaa Asante Date: 27 October 2026
The question
How can the outpatient department cut average waiting time from three hours to under one, without adding doctors? Objectives
- To measure where patients' time goes today, by step and by clinic.
- To design a new appointment and triage flow.
- To pilot it in two clinics and report the results.
Approach
We will time 400 patient journeys over two weeks, interview staff in each step, model three alternative flows, and pilot the strongest one in the eye and ENT clinics for four weeks.Team
Dr. Yaa Asante (lead, 12 years in hospital operations) and one analyst.
Timeline
ten weeks from start, with a findings workshop in week 4 and a final report in week 10.
Fees
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Professional fees | GHS 96,000 fixed fee |
| Expenses | reimbursed at cost, capped at GHS 4,000 |
Payment: 50% on acceptance, 50% on the final report.
Assumptions
The fee and timeline assume that the hospital provides access to appointment data and a named contact in each clinic, and the pilot clinics keep normal staffing during the pilot. If any assumption does not hold, we will agree any change to scope, timeline or fees in writing before continuing.
Terms
This proposal is valid until 26 November 2026. Findings and reports belong to the Client once paid for; the Consultant keeps its methods and tools. Both parties keep each other's confidential information private.

About the Consulting proposal template
Clients hire consultants to answer a question they cannot answer alone. A consulting proposal that states that question precisely, and shows a credible route to the answer, does most of the selling by itself.
This template begins with the key question and three concrete objectives, then describes the approach in enough detail to be believable: what you will measure, who you will talk to, what you will test. It names the team, gives a timeline with checkpoints, and states the fee as a fixed price with capped expenses, which most clients prefer to open-ended day rates.
The assumptions section protects you: it lists what the client must provide for the price and timeline to hold. When an assumption fails, you have a fair basis for a change. The client accepts by signing, through Salsox, on any device.

Questions
Should I quote a fixed fee or a day rate?
For a well-defined question, a fixed fee is easier for the client to approve and rewards you for working efficiently. Use a day rate when the scope genuinely cannot be fixed.
Why list assumptions in a proposal?
Your price depends on things the client controls: data access, staff time, decisions. Listing them makes clear when a change in scope or price is fair.
Is a signed consulting proposal a contract?
It can be, for a small engagement, when it states scope, fees and terms. Larger engagements often use a consulting agreement as well.
